Charlize Theron's adoption plans

The movie star is investigating the possibility of bringing home a baby from her native Africa

Angelina's done it, Madonna's done it and now Oscar-winner Charlize Theron is thinking of doing it. We are, of course, talking about adoption! According to insiders, the 35-year-old South African actress is said to be thoroughly investigating adoption routes. Charlize has been ‘longing' for a child for some time now, and a source close to the star says this was part of the reason for her split from her partner of 10 years, Stuart Townsend, last year.

‘Stuart wasn't ready for kids,' says our mole.
‘They were together for so long that she thought eventually children would be the next stage, but that never happened.'
Now Charlize, who in the past has said that she was ‘going to have five boys,' is taking matters into her own hands.
And she isn't afraid to go it alone, either, as she has told pals that she's planning to carry out the adoption as a single mum.
She's also particularly keen to search Africa specifically Congo, for her new baby, as she visited the area recently on a fact-finding mission as a United Nations Messenger Of Peace.
‘Charlize wants to do something to really make a difference to one of these children's lives,' says our source.
Finding a child has now become the main priority for Charlize, who's putting her movie career on the back burner while she fulfills her need to become a mother.
‘She's so desperate to be a mum. It's definitely the most important thing to her right now.'
